M-MRCA Update-2009

The Massive M-MRCA deal for the Indian Air Force(IAF) has completed one more important step.The initial techinal evaluations are completed last month and all recomendations and reports have been forwarded to defence ministry. It's a massive deal and almost all compititors know the importance of the deal.It will not only give present business prospect but will also open huge oppurtunities for joint ventures, joint research and co-production. Lots of things are going over the electronic media bout the deals. There's also a update flying around which says that grippen is out of the compitition. That is not true. Apparently VayuSena Bhavan( IAF HQ) have forwarded all the compititors with out any eliminations. That means the field trial of the aircrafts can be expected to start from March-April , 2009 . Field trials will be done under Hot Conditions(in Rajasthan or Kutch) and extreme Cold conditions( in Leh), along with trials in Humid Conditions(Shore base).

Bamyan! Yes, Buddha left it...and so has Peace

Afghanistan is still under ruins and is still chained to taliban-loyal warlords.Afghanistan is back to chaos and violence has increased not only against coalition soldiers but also against locals.US coalition is no longer interested in afghanistan and flipping around to check chances and to abandon afghanistan.And why not! this part of the world was never their agenda.They used afghanistan as a scapegoat to attack iraq and seige oil fields.White house and NATO commanders know that this is a dead land and the only thing it can give is opium.They probably think it as "USE-N-THROW" state.People are dying there. Many americans and commenwealth nationals are regular on my blog to read about aviation and military articles.MY Feedjit visitor-counter takes quantum leap whenever i post something about weapons and war.I wish we were more interested in humanity than in weapons.Recently i got a report in my thuderbird through my RSS feed that a 14 year girl was butchered in the name of family honor.The incident happened in Bamyan province.Bamyan- Rings any bell...Oh yes!!! Once upon a time, though not long ago, this place was an international heritage site because of the the famous n huge Buddha Statue.The statue was brought down by taliban when US forces the afghan campaign in 2001.The girl, Maryam, 14, was raped by a man in the Yakawlang District of Bamyan Province, central Afghanistan, five months ago. Her mother and brother used razor blades to cut the girl open, take out the foetus, and bury it alive to hide the disgrace, according to Habiba Surabi, the governor of Bamyan.
Maryam had initially concealed the rape, fearing this could devastate her family and possibly end her own life. But five months later, when it became clear that she was carrying a baby, her family decided to “remedy” the problem.
“The baby was alive when they took it from my body… and buried it as it was crying,” Maryam was quoted in the local media as saying.
The “surgery” was conducted violently, recklessly and without any medical arrangements.
“She was butchered like an animal,” said a physician at Yakawlang hospital where the victim was in intensive care.
After the painful “surgery” which lasted almost an hour, Maryam’s abdomen was stitched up with an ordinary needle and thread, medical experts said. Dirty wounds led to her condition deteriorating rapidly. Five days later, she was reportedly taken to hospital half-dead.
“They [her parents] said she was bitten by a dog in the stomach a few days a go,” Ehsan Shaheer, director of Bamyan’s health department.
A quick look at her butchered body convinced doctors it was not a dog that had ripped Maryam’s body apart.
“We informed the police and other authorities, and now her mother and brother are in custody,” said Shaheer. The alleged rapist has also been arrested, local people said.
Shaheer said Maryam’s life had been saved but extended treatment and care - unavailable in Bamyan Province - was needed for her to make a full recovery.
“Horrific crimes”
Confirming Maryam’s tragedy, the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) said it had registered over 2,000 cases of violence against women in the past 10 months - a marked increase on previous years.
“We’re particularly worried about the worsening nature and characteristics of violence against women,” Soraya Rahim Subhrang, a women’s rights commissioner at the AIHRC.
A widespread culture of impunity and lack of support for victims of gender violence has further exacerbated the situation, Subhrang said, adding “The culture of violence has increased because there is no fear of the law.”
The AIHRC called on the government to bring the man who raped Maryam as well as her mother and brother to “transparent and unbiased” justice.

Union Jack Sowed the Seeds of Terrorism!!

After the end of WW II – India got independence from the British but the British divided up the country before moving out. The British wanted two things out of it:

1) They wanted a weak nation (Pakistan, that is), which would depend on Britain for its defense. 2) They wanted that newly-formed weak nation (aka PAKISTAN) to border the oil wells of Central Asia (part of the Soviet Union, then) and to be close to the Muslim-majority, oil-rich nations of the Middle East.

Corollary to the objective was that India, the larger of the two nations then in the subcontinent (now, with the emergence of Bangladesh in 1972, the subcontinent has three nations) must not have any common border with either Afghanistan (the buffer state) or the Soviet Union.Hence, Kashmir state must not go to India in its original form to INDIA and at best, status quo can be maintained.The British objective to control the oil wells was part of the Great Game to prevent the mighty Russian empire from having access to the oil fields. Former British Governor of the NorthWest Frontier Province during the British Raj days, Sir Olaf Caroe used to say the shadow of the north (meaning: RUSSIA) must not extend over the wells of power. (The Objectives have not changed, hence we look at their genesis)Cut to the present: At the end of the first Gulf War in 1991, 55 percent of the 20 largest companies in the energy industry by market capitalization were American, and 45 percent were European, according to the Goldman Sachs Group Inc. study. But in 2007, 35 percent of the 20 largest energy companies are from BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, China) countries, about 35 percent are European, and about 30 percent are American, the study said.According to predictions by a PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC )’s head of macroeconomics, John Hawsworth report, the size of India's economy would swell to 90 per cent of that of the US by 2050, while China would be even larger than the US economy, having overtaken it as the largest economy in the world in around 2025. The above statements were made prior to the US economy tanking. With the current unprecedented economic crisis facing the US and Europe, the real gap of the economy between US vs China and India has shrunk. Though both Chinese and Indian economy have been hit by the global winds of recession, they have not been hurt to the extent the AAE has been hurt. Which means, the Chinese economy may already have inched closer to US economy and India may do so in the next 10 – 15 years.This is the bleak economic scenario facing the stalwarts of the Anglo American Empire (AAE) who need to protect their turf and business at “all costs”. Amongst the crème de la crème who mirror the interests of this AAE – Bilderberg group takes the cake. It is not an uber secret group like the Illuminati (the respected newsmagazine The Economist says Illuminati exists till date) but it is clearly very powerful.The security scenario facing the AAE presents it with an unique opportunity. The British, being past masters at espionage and diplomacy, managed to cull out the next big thing for the 21st century by 19th century and given a scientific basis in 1942 via Viceroy’s Study Group - control of oil wells at Central Asia. The US took over from Britain as the military, technical and financial wealth of US soared far above UK post WW II. UK’s second vision was to ensure that India did not get a common border with Afghanistan, hence arming and abetteting terror groups like Lashkar e Taiba (LeT) were encouraged by AAE, to create mayhem in Kashmir and keep India tied up. The American vision was also to keep the Chinese and Russians away and they played one against the other.Unfortunately for AAE, the security scenario did not exactly work out the way it wanted to be. It wanted Map 1, the failure of it resulted in revisiting and reinventing Map 2, but what confronts it today is Map 3.

Genesis of Map 1: Revisiting the UK plan to create Pakistan – so that this new “small” largely Muslim country will be subservient to UK for defense and in return Pakistan will given UK a staging ground to be close to the oil wells of Central Asia (part of the Soviet Union, then) and to be close to the Muslim-majority, oil-rich nations of the Middle East. Pakistan proved to be an able ally of AAE in ousting Soviet Union from Afghanistan. The US helped ISI prop up Taliban in Afghanistan. The then US Assistant Secy of State for South Asian Affairs, ROBIN RAPHAEL went on to state – “The Taliban capture of Kabul is a POSITIVE STEP.”On December 4th 1997, the representatives of Taliban were invited guests at the Texas headquarters of UNOCAL to negotiate support for the pipeline.However in the 1990s, the overall US vision differed from UK vision for the region. US thought Iraq would be the best place to set up a base and run both the Central Asian gas as well as Middle East oil from there. The US abandoned Afghanistan after the Soviets left, but the British did not. CIA / MI6 / SAS covert team worked in tandem with ISI to send “terrorist” from Jaish e Mohammad, Lashkar e Taiba, Moro Liberation Front to Chenchneya, Dagestan, Kosovo, Bosnia. KSA intelligence infiltrated LeT and lent an opening to CIA to run “assets” for its operations. For all this, the AAE gave ISI a free hand to have “fun” in Kashmir. Given, that their partnership with Pakistan was bearing fruit, notwithstanding irritants, the AAE dreamt of controlling the oil wells of Central Asia and Middle East through a unified country to be called the United States of Islam, largely militarily run by Pakistan. Pakistan was encouraged to send in Taliban to take control of Afghanistan as long as the AAE got to construct UNOCAL pipelines to transport Central Asian gas through Afghanistan to warm water ports of Karachi. ISI liked Map 1 too – it was closer to its dream of establishing an Islamic Caliphate.

However, minor irritants were creeping in. Paksitan and ISI started acting on their own, away from the wishes of its masters in the AAE. In Bosnia, CIA used ISI help in sending “jedhais” to fight the Russian backed Serbs. However, without informing the US, Pakistan used military planes to airlift sophisticated anti-tank guided missiles and this forced the Serbs to life the siege, much to the annoyance of the US government. So incensed was the then US President Bill Clinton that he threatened to Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif that Pakistan will be declared a TERRORIST STATE if Sharif did not remove Javed Nisar from top post of ISI. Which Sharif did and averted his nation from being called a Terrorist State.

Many such incidents, including AQ Khan's nuclear Walmart, made the AAE and its military backers realize that Pakistan was running a different agenda and hoodwinking the interests of AAE. This gave rise to Map 2 which divided up Pakistan along ethnic lines. Baluchistan was an independent country in the 19th century. Pakistan which saw dreams of running Islamic Caliphate envisioned in Map1 suddenly saw its fate as a weak fledgling nation captured in neo-con Map 2. The AAE were not at all happy with Pakistan and they were not going to give up business interests in Central Asian region and see the return of the Russian bear once again. To top it, newer gas fields were being discovered and with the discovery of Yolotan Osman gas reserves in Turkmenistan that was outside the business agreement that Turkmenistan had with Russia, gave AAE immense leverage and rationale to stay put in Afghanistan. Pakistan became important only as a transit route to feed NATO / US forces in Afghanistan. With US now implementing a new route bypassing Pakistan, the importance of Pakistan will come down tremendously. Pakistan, looking at this, has looked at China to couter the US moves. Pakistan has responded by doing three things:

1. Used its contacts in Afghan Taliban cells of Haqqani, Hekmatyar and Omar to launch assaults in Afghanistan on NATO – to ensure speedy “departure” of these forces.

2. Tried disrupting NATO supplies from its soil from time to time – which will logistically hurt the forces in absence of an alternative supply line currently

3. Opened up Gwadar port in Pakistan in collaboration with China – thus giving Chinese Navy a future berthing facility in Indian Ocean - a scenario not at all welcomed by US & India.

The US wanted to operationalize plans to activate plans to make the Map 2 a reality – however a Map 3 has been thrust in its face. Large tracts of land in between Pakistan and Afghanistan has been captured by Taliban. This poses a serious threat to the plans to AAE. Pakistan is aware of Map 2 and neo-con plans of US. It has countered by embedding its soldiers with Taliban and other terror groups. This has made Pakistan's western borders impregnable - the hostile terrain adding to the difficulty. Without Pakistan's help, one cannot mount ground operations in this area and win. With Map 3, Pakistan hopes to increase its bargaining powers with the AAE.The blast of Indian Embassy in Afghanistan was a plan originating from Level 2 – ie ISI and done by Level 1 actors aligned with the Haqqani groups. This was done to damage the India – AAE nexus from growing as Pakistan saw its “importance” being eroded away. India + AAE nexus seriously threatens Pakistan.Pakistan had to be stopped before it hurt the AAE any more and for that India was chosen to counter balance. India has come a long way from being a Soviet proxy to being embedded with the interests of the AAE – at least that is what Americans would like to believe.

Mumbai Attack: Peelin The five layers

Mumbai attack puts lotsa questions on board and some are pretty much complex than we think or can imagine. Government says that it was LeT and ISI.Well That true and there's no doubt about that.Now i found some interesting informations which sums up and makes up something bigger and something really "out-of-pakistan".The whole mumbai operation was created by Intelligence agencies but who are involved and why?we know only about ISI. I coolected and collated some information which actually sugggests a bigger picture.Let's try to understand the whole thing under 5 seperate but hierarchical layers. When Truth or deception is couched in many layers, it's definately hard to understand and why do u think layers are used..ofcourse to hide the inner secret. But for simplicity, let's look at these 5 layers.

Level 1: The biggest structure infront of india are the terrorist outfits / jehadis. they are in to a direct engagement with us and they are the primary fighting force( forget the term" proxy fighter..that's a term used by god damn policymakers). They are not the brains - but are the foot soldiers to carry out a mission without question. Lashkar e Taiba, various factions of Taliban, Jaish e Mohammad, Harkat-Ul-Ansar, Jammat-E-Islami etc form the first layer. Their leaders are akin to the "head" of the dolls. Think of these organizations as giving the "biggest bang for the buck" - hence they are the biggest doll that we see. Some of us think that "surgical" strikes against these "Level 1" actors will solve India's problems. But that is actually far from truth. How are these terrorist organisations getting funds. Goverments and Intel agencies claim that the bank accounts have been frozen, opium trade has been stopped , then how the hell are these terrorists getting money to buy arms,ammunitionand modern equipments like military grade GPS, Rangefinders and military explosives and detonators. Not to forget the advanced military training they are getting to handle sophisticated weaponry and ammunition.

Level 2: ISI & Pakistan Army. They remain and work behind Level 1 players but are the actual "brains-on-theatre" and "logistical arm". Al Qaeda moves in between Level 1 & 2, depending on the “country of attack”. For India, they are in Level 1 and subservient to ISI. They provide necessary training and logistic support for the jihadis and terrorist cells.They formulate "theatre-strategies" which are then executed by level 1.

Level 3: This has to be Michael Vickers .I am sure not many people have heard about this person.It's not your fault. He likes to keep a low profile. But that doesnot decrease the amount of influenence he has on this issue. He brings in his vast resources to increase / decrease levels of insurgency in Pakistan / Afghanistan / Kashmir. He was the paymaster of the Afghan Mujahideens during Soviet occupation and the major arms suppliers to covert groups for covert operations. He retains a first name basis relationship(very important) with many of these mujahideens who are now in control of different factions of Taliban. As recently as Feb 2008, he was instrumental in “Doubling” the size of Pakistan SSG Commandos. His actions have a direct bearing in the region.

Michael G VickersIf there is one man responsible for the defeat of the Soviet Union in Afghanistan that led to its subsequent break up – it is Michael Vickers. Hence, this individual reserves the right to be included as an individual – though he brings with him his vast resources.(Note: The Pakistan terrorists were trained by SSG Commandos and (retd.) Major of SSG Alavi was shot dead last month because he was going to expose links of SSG Generals with Taliban.)

Actually Vickers is an ex-army green beret from US Army's Special Forces(SF).In mid-1980s he was involved in the arming of mujahideens against the soviet forces. He was the head military strategist for the U.S. and coordinating an effort that involved ten countries and providing direction to forces made up of over 500,000 Afghan mujahideens. Later he was Senior Vice President, Strategic Studies, at the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments (CSBA), during which he provided advice on Iraq strategy to President Bush and his war cabinet. In July 2007 he was confirmed by the US Senate as Assistant Secretary of Defense, where he is the senior civilian advisor to the Secretary of Defense on such matters as counter-terrorism strategy and operational employment of special operations forces, strategic forces, and conventional forces. In 2004, he wrote an Op-Ed piece for USA Today in which he stated that the United States can be successful in Iraq by using a much smaller force modeled on success in Afghanistan. One "Afganistan" created taliban and Osama, Imagine what will happen if he creates another Afganistan. He is an asset to US, no dobt about that. Hes not some politician who doesnot know what is happening or what needs to be done.He's an green beret. He knows how to use weapons and how to use soldiers. He has got ground experinces in africa and asia. He 's a serious strategist who thinks beyond nations. For us He's a dangerous man.

Level 4: This would comprise CIA / MI6 and a host of other myriad intelligence arms of Anglo-American empire. This level also embodies the different arms of the government of these countries. This includes NSA etc. These people actually formulate execution strategies that may /may not pass through Vickers. To complicate matters, there are intelligence agencies of Iran, Russia etc in the region whose aims and objectives run counter to the Ango-American ones, but they too end up cultivating “jehadi groups” to sow dissention or harm interests of Anglo – American empire in the region. Since they do not affect Indian interests “directly” – i have not included them. Thsese are high level players and work behind many layers of state laws and diplomatics agreements and coalitions.

Level 5: The smallest doll but the most dangerous - the one who thinks “through” it all. Again these are a myriad of think tanks, uber secret groups. Let me just take one name – Bilderberg Group. These people are the “thinkers” who strategize a scenario which is future “win win” for the Anglo American empire. Once the scenario has been chalked out – the mission plan is handed down to Level 4 and then onwards. Thses are business groups that drive the economy and goverments of capitalist and partial monarch goverments. Level 5 creates a scenario which is passed over to level 4 and then a strategy is formulated.

Note: All this is not seamless and not all planning comes from Level 5. Also there are many important “players” outside the ambit of classification given above, but to maintain simplicity, they can be included in any of the 5 Levels mentioned above. (Eg: Crime / Drug syndicate of Dawood to help in logistics, gun running etc etc).There are independent plans at Level 2 too which are carried out by Level 1, completely out of the ambit of Level 5 / Level 4.Hence, when an operation happens in India by Level 1 player (eg: LeT), it is important for India to find out whether the planning originated at Level 2 (which is then localized and a local response will be enough) or did it originate at Level 4 or 5 (which would bind India’s arms – and India should then quickly ascertain the motive of Level 4 / 5 players).Two players who are completely dependent and do not work alone are Level 1 & Level 3. None of these (Level 1 & Level 3) mount any “strategic” strikes without being given the “green signal” from Levels above it.Taking out Level 1 (surgically or otherwise) will not matter as Level 2 will breed other clones to take place of lost Level 1 “foot soldiers”. To solve India’s problem, Level 2 needs to be “eradicated” or its capabilities “seriously impaired”.India does not have the leverage to deal, currently, with Levels 3, 4 and 5. However, India should be alert to the game plan of Level 4 & 5 and watch the “movements” of Level 3 (i.e.Vickers and his covert team). Any flurry of activity by Level 3 in the region will give a “whiff” of major action in the region. India must realize the game plan of Level 5 players only.One of the major rationales for involvement of Level 5 in the region has been discussed in the Great Game. Level 5 wants Anglo American business empire to be entrenched in Central Asia and they are not budging from Afghanistan. India needs to know whether the plans for Mumbai attacks originated at Level 2 or were it a Level 5 operation? Whether or not it was a Level 5 operation, does not “absolve” Levels 1 & 2 whose aim to dismember and maim India remains firm as ever. Now, dismembering India is not in the interest of Levels 3,4 & 5. Keeping that in mind, we must get to see what is driving Level 4 / 5 (if they are involved) and if so why?

A Quatum Leap In Naval Recon/ASW

The year definately started with a good note for indian armed forces..first it was the implementation of sixth pay commision hike and the decision to establish a seperate pay commision for armed forces. Indian armed forces are also recieving modern warfare equipments, thanks to the country's high economic growth rate.Last week i wrote about the induction of Phalcon Condor AWACS system into Indian Air Force. Indian Navy is also going for the fleet modernisation program and the latest development is that india inked a $2.1 billion deal with Boeing for the supply of 8 customized P-8A Poseidon Maritime Multimission Aircraft (MMA), designated P-8I, for use by the Indian Navy.Considering that india has a huge coast line and the incidents in last few months have firmly establisbed the fact that india's interests are , in fact , outside its 12 mile coastal zone.Recent engagements at Somalian coast and Recent mumbai attacks have highlighted the importance of a true "Blue-Water Navy" with advanced and long range martime survillence and recon. The deal is the biggest ever defense deal between India and the US, surpassing the 2007 $962 million deal for the supply of six C-130J `Super Hercules' aircraft for Indian special forces. Hercules was primarily inducted for the use of transportation of Special forces(SF) and will be used as tactical transport.India will get its first P-8I towards end-2012 or early-2013, with delivery of the remaining seven aircraft expected to be completed by 2015-16. Under the contract India has an option to order four to eight more such planes, which , i think india will order.

P-8I will replace Indian Navy's agining Tu-142 Bomber/Recon. But iam sure that navy would want to squeeze Tu-142 till 2015. Tupoluv's have recently gone through a upgrade program in russia and the new Sea-Dragon suite has been integrated into the aircraft.The P-8I Poseidon will help the Indian Navy keep a tab on Chinese nuclear submarines lurking around India. India, along with Australia, is amongst the first foreign buyers of the Poseidon system, which is yet to be inducted into the US Navy. Capable of extended broad-area and littoral MR/ASW operations for ten hours at a stretch, the P-8I MMA uses Boeing’s B.737-800 airframe, is powered by twin CFM56-7 turbofans each rated at, 27,300lb of takeoff thrust, and its wings will feature commercially proven raked or backswept wingtips. The P-8I MMA will be equipped with a mission avionics/sensor suite comprising:

* Northrop Grumman’s electro-optical/infra-red (EO/IR) sensor, the directional IR countermeasures system, electronic support measures system, secure data link, and mission-planning support hardware.

* Raytheon’s upgraded APY-10 maritime surveillance radar and signals intelligence (SIGINT) solution; a GPS anti-jam, integrated friend or foe, and towed decoy self-protection suite; a broadcast information system (BIS); and secure UHF SATCOMS capability.

* Smiths Aerospace’s flight-management and stores-management systems.

Flight-test delivery of the first P-8A MMA is slated for 2009, with initial operational capability and series-production following by 2012. Elsewhere in East Asia, other prospective customers of the P-8A MMA in future could include Australia, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, South Korea and Taiwan.

Phalcon Condor Reaches India

The year started with a good news for Indian air Force. Israel has dispatched the first of the three Phalcon Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) aircraft to India ahead of a reworked delivery schedule. The aircraft arrived at New Delhi's Palam airport on 11 January 2009 from where it has now moved to the Indian Air Force's base at Agra.
The surprise development takes place even as relations between India and Pakistan continue to deteriorate post-Mumbai terror attacks. According to the re-worked delivery schedule the first Phalcon was to arrive only in February 2009.Under a $1.1 billion deal signed in March 2004.Israel was contracted to supply three Phalcon airborne warning and control systems. These systems were to be mated with Ilyushin-76 heavy military transport aircraft. The deliveries were originally intended to commence in November 2007, but were subsequently postponed to the end of 2008 and further to February 2009.





India may have contracted for a fourth Il-76 mounted Phalcon AWACS system from Israel. It is said to be keen on building up its Phalcon AWACS fleet to a strength of six.
The Israeli Phalcon AWACS will enable the IAF to carry out tactical surveillance over a radius of 400 kilometers and collect surface target information deep inside Pakistan even as the aircraft operates within Indian airspace. An electronically steered beam emitting from a solid-state phased array Elta EL/M-2075 radar, mounted on a radome above the fuselage, provides a 360 degree coverage around the aircraft.It is also being suggested that the AWACS will eventually be networked with other air force assets through a dedicated satellite.India has an indigenous AWACS programme being developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), which signed a deal last year with Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer for the purchase of three EMB-145 aircraft for use as an AWACS platform. These aircraft will be modified to carry an Active Array Antenna Unit, developed by the DRDO, on their fuselage.Last month Pakistan announced a $278 million deal with the People's Republic of China for the purchase of a modern Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS).
The Chinese AWACS system has been under development since 2004, sometime after the Americans stopped the Israeli government from selling the Phalcon system to Beijing.
According to details provided to Pakistani legislators China will provide the system to Pakistan over the next four years. The PRC has also made a critical concession to cash-strapped Pakistan agreeing to make deliveries on a deferred payment basis.For India, its tactical surveillance responsibilities are currently being shouldered by a fleet of Israeli-made Searcher and Heron UAVs.

US Subprime Mortage Crisis : Everybody's Fault

Uh..It's good to be back in bloggersville...It been 15-20 days that i have not opened my blog. Then i don't get time these days....Lotsa things happenin in office..Last month we saw the melting of financial giants..this month we saw the the melting of Satyam and near-disaster at Wipro. So much data is flowing for reproccesing or verification that we financial data security people hardly get any time. and again with the implementation of Siebel CRM the work has increased many folds. I sometime think that working on a financial vertical is notall a good option but sometimes it feels good coz in many situation you will be the first to know abt things. For Example the meltdown of American Mortage sector. When i joined the Equifax team the mortage sector was already extended for lower middle class, immigrants and students on some terms and conditions which , now quite evident were not sufficient.

At that point of time nearly one in five U.S. mortgage borrowers owe more to lenders than their homes are worth, and the rate may soon approach one in four as housing prices fall and the economy weakens, a report on Friday shows. Banks and Capital depositors are central to any economic model- be it Capitalism or Communism. They are responsible for the liquidity and availability of capital. On Monday, 20 Octoder 2008 I recieved a advanced alert report from Carelogic about a possible rise in Negative Equity. We were also dealing with Data breach at CountryWide Home Mortagage and BM Melon. We also got some advanced reports on irregularities in the books of Wachovia and AIG. A stupid can also guess that a big organisation like AIG or Lehmann Brothers cannot go bankrupt in a single day. This is the result of inefficient policy making and poor control. About 7.63 million properties(it's abt 18%) had negative equity in September, and another 2.1 million will follow if home prices fall another 5 percent. We identified seven states which were badly hit by the crisis- Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada and Ohio . Together these states accumulated 61% of all "underground" borrowers and the shocking thing was this is about 41% of US Mortage. That blew the minds. I said " Jesus! they granted mortgages to these people. How in god's grace these companies will manage to pull up the money." It was quite evident that these companies were left with little and it would be hard to steer away from this situation.

On 1 November CNN-IBN was broadcasting a interview with David Wyss, chief economist at Standard & Poor's...according to Mr. Wyss ""This is very much a regional problem, and people tend to forget that".One of my collegue was furious "This is so typical american..kis *****ye ko le kar aaye hai"....m********do ko samaj nahi aata ki lagne wali hai....sale hamari jobs aur salary kha jayenge"....Well in a way he was right...i think we were more concerned about the meltdown. If something happens there we will have to share the consequences- Projects will be withdrawn, People will loose jobs or salary cut. Mr. Wyss Continued ""Most of the country is not in bad shape. Things seem to be stabilizing in Michigan, but the big bubble states -- Florida, California, Arizona and Nevada -- are still very overpriced."

I was wondering is this a honest way to avoid any economic panic or he's just trying to patching up irregularities. In reality about 68 percent of U.S. adults own their own homes, and about two-thirds of them have mortgages. Now the situation is like JPMorgan Chase & Co, one of the biggest mortgage lenders offered to modify $70 billion of mortgages to keep a potential 4 lakh homeowners out of foreclosure. Bank of America Corp, which bought Countrywide Financial Corp in July, also has a large loan modification program. Despite a series of expensive government programs to spur lending, mortgage rates are rising, making it tougher to borrow or refinance. The rate on a 30 year fixed rate mortgage jumped this week to 6.46 percent from 6.04 percent. Now it seems like New York is also under fire. We're going to see home prices coming down pretty significantly in New York. I think It's the after effect. Obama Sure will have a tough time in White House. But GoodLuck to You, Mr. President!
